Phil Minnaar
Founder and Principal

Phil worked his way up in the safari industry throughout Southern Africa.  In 1979 he started as a game ranger in a game capture unit of Nature Conservation in South Africa. This included the capture of lion, buffalo, crocodile and hippo. During this time he was also introduced to the African wildlife film industry and took part in documentaries on the capture, transportation and relocation of highly endangered species.

Phil is currently running his own safari and wildlife film production Company with his wife, Anél. He is also the chairperson of a non-profit wildlife research organisation that supports wildlife veterinary science and research that work in close conduct with universities around the world. Their research projects form part of the research for the wildlife film script that becomes the wildlife documentary International viewers see on TV broadcast.

A licensed Commercial pilot in South Africa, Phil has flown for over 5 years logging up 1000s of hours as a bush pilot in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, South Africa and Zambia.  He is also an experienced safari guide on photographic safaris, Tiger fishing safaris and guided walking safaris in Big 5 country. Phil has many years experience with safari camp and game lodge management, game ranch management, professional hunting and deep-sea shipwreck diving.  Phil is also one of the original founder members of a company called "African Fly-In Safaris" popular in South Africa and previous co-owner of "Game Trackers-Air" now known as "Mack Air" in Botswana. He also operated former "Hunters Africa" Hunting Safaris and "Quest Africa" Photographic Safaris in Namibia.
